Biographical Sketch

Julie M. Pavri was born in 1948. She holds RN, MSN and MLS degrees and was the first person holding both MLS and nursing degrees to work as the archivist for the Foundation of the New York State Nurses Association (in 2006, the name officially changed to the Foundation of New York State Nurses). Pavri received her MSN from the University of Cincinnati and her MLS from the State University at New York. Her book Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future: A History of the New York State Nurses Association (© 2000) is the source of this collection.

Scope and Contents Notes

The Pavri Collection consists of books, articles, publications and other documents including correspondence (dated 1999 and 2000),used in the process of writing the book Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future: A History of the New York State Nurses Association.

Four series cover all material generated in research and correspondence related to the authoring Julie M. Pavri’s Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future: A History of the New York State Nurses Association. Ms. Pavri maintained accurate records of permission to publish photographs, detailed notes regarding where material from articles ended up in books, books used for research, and research conducted on influential nurses and leaders. The collection contains mostly papers, some photographs, books, and a broche.
