M. Janice Nelson Collection

M. Janice Nelson, EdD, RN, greatly influenced the profession of nursing in New York State.  She served as the founder and first dean of the College of Nursing at Upstate Medical University. She served for two decades on the board of the Visiting Nurses Association, Syracuse, NY, and was a past president of the Nurses Educational fund.  She chaired the Council on Ethical Practice of the NYSNA.  She was an active member of the Board of Trustees at the Foundation of New York State Nurses and is currently a honorary trustee. Dr. Nelson has received many awards and accolades in her career.  This collection spans her active nursing and educational career.  It includes documents, speeches, photographs, and awards and accolades. This collection is currently unprocessed.
