The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) is celebrating its 50th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in 1970.  Its mission was to provide independent, evidence-based advice on health, medicine, and biomedical science in an era of rapid sociopolitical change.  In 2017 NAM debuted a new mission statement: To improve health for all by advancing science, accelerating health equity, and providing independent, authoritative, and trusted advice nationally and globally.  Throughout 2020, the National Academy of Medicine will highlight examples of the many historical impacts they have had in the past half-century and will also examine the critical challenges of the future and reaffirm their commitment to serving the health of the public for decades to come.  For more information and to find out how you can get involved, please click here!
