The purpose of the diversity tool kit is to provide resources that help strengthen the capacity of institutions in New York State to create and sustain a diverse nursing workforce that’s committed to achieving health equity and eliminating disparities in health care.

The tool kit includes background on research that links diverstity, inclusivity and health equity, demographics of New York State’s nursing workforce, challenges that hinder efforts to strengthen diversity, best practices for creating inclusive environments and ending health care disparities, recommendations for strengthening diversity in nursing, and grants and scholarships for nursing education.
