British/American country-pop duo, Brown & Gray, received a request to create a nursing anthem that recognizes, supports, and empowers frontline nurses to continue their efforts to provide critical care to patients who have been impacted by COVID-19. The request came from Marcia Proto, Executive Director of the Connecticut League for Nursing and the Connecticut Center for Nursing Workforce to write a song that captures the fearless passion, determination, and love that nurses have displayed during this health crisis. With the World Health Organization designating 2020 as the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, Kaci Brown and Sam Gray jumped at the chance to publicly thank nurses around the world and let them know that they “see them, support them, and love them for the personal sacrifices that they have made on our behalf”.
